Knack Flows Templates are pre-built workflows that automate tasks between Knack and your favorite tools, like Google Drive, Google Sheets, and even other Knack apps. Each template includes one or more “scenarios” which are plug-and-play automation flows.

How to Use Knack Flows Templates (Step-by-Step)

Step 1: Open the Templates Tab in Flows

Head to your Knack Builder and click Flows in the left-hand navigation. Then select the Templates tab at the top.

Step 1: Open the Templates Tab in Flows

Head to your Knack Builder and click Flows in the left-hand navigation. Then select the Templates tab at the top.

You’ll see two sections:
Templates: Browse available workflows by connector.

My Installations: Manage any templates you’ve already installed.

Step 2: Browse Available Templates

Templates are grouped by system (called connectors), including:

• Google Drive
  
• Google Sheets
  
• Google Contacts
  
• Knack-to-Knack

Click on a connector to view the available scenarios. Each one includes:

• A short description
  
• Number of steps
  
• Toggle switch to include or exclude from installation
  

Step 3: Install Your Template

Once you’ve selected your scenario(s):

1. Toggle ON the flows you want to use.
   
2. Click Continue.
   
3. Choose your Linked Apps—this connects your Knack app and the external service (like Google Drive or Sheets).

Click Continue again, and your Template will install automatically.

Step 4: Customize the Flow to Fit Your Data

Each scenario includes multiple steps. You can edit any step using the Gear icon next to it.

Look for fields outlined in yellow—these need to be updated with your real data. Map your Knack fields to the correct places in the Flow.

If you’re uploading a file to Google Drive, map your Knack app’s File ID field to the file upload action.

When you’re done, click Start to activate your Flow.

Step 5: Monitor the Flow’s Activity

To see your Flow in action:

Can’t see anything?
Make sure the Group filter is set to All Groups so nothing is hidden.

• Or check the Flow Log for a specific scenario.
