How Knack Flows Works
Connect Dropbox and Knack using Knack Flows to automate file storage and document management across your applications. This integration lets you upload files from Knack directly to Dropbox, organize documents into folders automatically, and link file URLs back to your Knack records. Trigger file uploads from form submissions, record updates, or workflow milestones. By combining Knack’s flexible database structure with Dropbox’s secure cloud storage, you can create a centralized, searchable file hub without writing any custom code.
Step 1: Select a Trigger
A trigger is an event in your automation that starts your Flow. You can select a trigger event in Knack that initiates a file action in Dropbox. For example, you might choose “New Record Created,” “Form Submitted,” or “Record Updated” as the trigger. Knack monitors your app for the selected event and prepares the associated file data.
Step 2: Set up an Action in Knack
Once a trigger occurs, actions define what happens next in your Flow. For example, you can upload files to Dropbox, create folders dynamically, move or organize documents, or save Dropbox file links back to Knack records. Actions can be combined with conditions, naming rules, and folder logic to match your file organization needs.
Step 3: Connect and Automate
When your Knack Flow is ready, you can activate it immediately or expand it with additional actions. Your Knack and Dropbox apps are now seamlessly connected. Files are stored, organized, and linked automatically as your data changes, allowing teams to manage documents directly from their Knack apps.
