How Knack Flows Work

Connect Canva to Knack’s Flows to automate content production, collaborate with team members on designs, and create content at scale. This integration lets you instantly sync design assets, automate content creation, manage assets, and track design comments directly within your Knack app. Build dynamic dashboards, generate customized marketing materials at scale, monitor design collaboration, and gain full visibility into your creative workflows, all from within your custom Knack portal.

Step 1: Select a Trigger

A trigger is an event in your automation that starts your Flow. You can select a trigger event in Canva that will initiate your workflow. For example, you might choose "New Design Created" or "Asset Uploaded" as the trigger. Knack monitors Canva for the selected trigger.

Step 2: Set up an Action in Knack

Once a Trigger has occurred, actions execute the tasks within your Flow. For example in Knack it could be: "Get feedback on design." You can determine what happens in Knack once the Canva trigger is activated. A Flow can contain one action, a sequence of custom actions, actions based on rules or conditions, and more. For example, you could set up an action to "Update existing record" in Knack when a new comment is made on a design for an ad or other marketing campaign.

Step 3: Connect and Automate

When your Knack Flow is ready, you can add more actions or start running it right away. Your Canva and Knack apps are now seamlessly connected. Create a new record in your Knack app every time a design is created in Canva, manage how brand assets are organized, or how ideas go from prototype to production right from your Knack app.
