How Knack Flows Work

Connect Google Sheets to Knack with Flows to automate your data operations and transform spreadsheets into powerful database applications. This integration lets you instantly sync spreadsheet data, automate updates between systems, and build professional web portals from your existing Google Sheets data—no manual entry required. Import customer records, track changes in real-time, maintain data consistency across platforms, and gain full control over your business information, all from within your custom Knack app.

Select a Trigger

Step 1: Select a Trigger

A trigger is an event in your automation that starts your Flow. You can select a trigger event in Google Sheets that will initiate your workflow. For example, you might choose "New Row Added" or "Row Updated" as the trigger. Knack monitors Google Sheets for the selected trigger.

Add an Action to the Flow

Step 2: Set up an Action in Knack

Once a Trigger has occurred, actions execute the tasks within your Flow. For example in Knack it could be: "Create new record." You can determine what happens in Knack once the Google Sheets trigger is activated. A Flow can contain one action, a sequence of custom actions, actions based on rules or conditions, and more. For example, you could set up an action to "Update existing record" in Knack when a row is modified in your customer spreadsheet or an inventory tracking sheet.

Add More Actions and Automate

Step 3: Connect and Automate

When your Knack Flow is ready, you can add more actions or start running it right away. Your Google Sheets and Knack apps are now seamlessly connected. Create a new record in your Knack app every time a row is added to Google Sheets, manage how spreadsheet changes affect your database records and more right from your Knack app.
