How Knack Flows Work

Step 1: Select a Trigger

A trigger is an event that starts your workflow. In a Shopify and Knack integration, triggers often originate from Shopify, such as when an order is created or paid, a checkout is abandoned, a product is updated, or a customer record changes. However, triggers can also originate in Knack, enabling workflows that push updates back into Shopify. Knack Flows listens for these events and initiates the appropriate automation.

Step 2: Set up an Action in Knack

Once a trigger occurs, actions define what happens next in your Flow. In Knack, actions might include creating or updating records, assigning tasks, sending notifications, or applying conditional logic. Shopify actions can include creating or updating customer information, products, orders, or inventory levels. Field mapping allows you to control exactly how your store data moves between systems.

Step 3: Connect and Automate

When your Flow is ready, you can activate it immediately or extend it with additional steps over time. Your Shopify store and Knack app are now fully connected. Store activity automatically updates your internal systems, while Knack-driven workflows can keep Shopify data accurate, organized, and aligned with your broader business processes.
